China Waiting Child Program
|
HAPS is thrilled to announce that we now have a Waiting Child Program in China for families who may be interested. Along with the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA), we have the wonderful opportunity to find loving homes for children with special needs.
There is a great need for families to adopt these beautiful children, who have a wide range of conditions or are older in age. Some of the children have already had correctible surgeries and may only need follow-up care. Some may need further surgeries.
At this time, HAPS is able to work with families residing in New Jersey, whose homestudies we have completed.
Our Program Director will give you the assistance and support are provided through each step of your adoption, including help with the dossier, certifications and authentications, travel preparation and arrangements for your trip to China. We welcome families to maintain ongoing contact with our staff both during and following your adoption and strive to keep you informed of any new or ongoing developments. We are looking for new families for our China Waiting Child Program and welcome you to the world of adoption.
Please feel free to contact the China Program Director with your questions at 732-863-6558. We look forward to helping you become an adoptive parent!
About the Children: Infants, toddlers and older children, boys and girls. At times, there are twins available. Reports are immediately available regarding their medical and developmental information, and any corrective surgeries they have received. The children are Hepatitis B and HIV tested. Medical conditions range from moderate to major.
Eligibility: Applicants must be between 30 and 55 to adopt a waiting child in China. Singles will not be accepted nor applicants living alternative lifestyles. All the same requirements apply as with the regular China Program (see China page).
Timeframe: Once the USCIS approval is received, the remainder of the process will take approximately 6 months. At the present time, once a dossier is logged in at the CCAA and a child’s file locked, the receipt of the referral of a child is a very quick process. Travel approximately 8 - 10 weeks after acceptance of referral.
