The HAPS Guyana Adoption Service is currently ON HOLD and
no new applications are being accepted as of 5/31/2019.
Guyana recently signed onto the Convention on the Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption (Hague Adoption Convention) and as of June 1, 2019 all adoptions from Guyana must comply with Hague Regulations and Requirements.
Historically, when this change occurs in a country, there is a delay in the processing of adoptions from that country until all the proper processes and procedures are in place between the two governments. Therefore, HAPS is not taking any new applications for adoptions from Guyana at this time.
If you wish to consider adopting from Guyana and would like to be contacted when HAPS is again able to provide services for adoptions from Guyana, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
