Non-Hague Adoptions and the Universal Accreditation Act (UAA)
Homestudies & Adoption Placement Services is available to assist families, from anywhere in the United States, whom are seeking a Primary Provider/Accredited ASP to assist with an adoption from a non-Hague country. HAPS adoption workers have assisted dozens of families through their adoption journeys and we are prepared and ready to assist many more!
The HAPS Hague accreditation allows us to act as a Primary Provider/Accredited ASP for Non-Hague adoptions in accordance with the Universal Accreditation Act of 2012. Using an Accredited ASP is required for ALL adoptions from Non-Hague countries where the adoption has not been completed prior to July 14, 2014.
Countries in which HAPS is able to provide Accredited ASP services for most cases include:
Lebanon, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Jamaica, Guyana, Morocco, Ukraine, Malawi, and Iran.
Additional Non-Hague countries can be considered on a case by case basis.
